Fiscal Year 2026 Water Fees
Water Rate Changes
Beginning July 1, 2025
Water Rate changes will go into effect with your July 1, 2025 water bill. Almost all water meters are charged based on one of four types: Single Family Residential, Multi-Family, Commercial, or Irrigation. Check your June statement to determine which account type you are. To help manage your usage, you can view your consumption and set up high-usage notifications for your property at parkcity.watersmart.com.
Please email water@parkcity.org or call 435-615-5335 with questions.
Single Family Residential Accounts
For around 90% of customers, your water bill will decrease; and for those who see an increase, simple irrigation changes (like running your sprinklers for less time) should allow you to also see a decrease while maintaining your existing landscaping.
How is water billing changing?
-
Your monthly base rate will change to $75; and your first 2,000 gallons of
water will be included in the base rate. -
Additional water beyond 2,000 gallons will be charged based on usage tiers determined by your property size.
-
For water use above 2,000 per month, if you stay under tier 3 volume for your property, you will pay no more than $ 20 per thousand gallons in usage charges.
Irrigation Accounts
Park City Municipal is changing the billing structure for irrigation connections. Instead of charging customers based on meter size and connection, we will bill based on total irrigated area as calculated below.
An aerial image of your property is used to identify your irrigated area. Hardscape (sidewalks, roads, etc.) and the footprint of any buildings are removed from the area. The total acreage is then used to place you in a ‘water plan.’ For example, one acre of irrigated area would be assigned to the one-acre plan. The City believes that not all irrigated areas should be grass, and some portion will be lower-water-demand plants such as shrubs and other perennials. For this reason, the irrigation plans anticipate 65% turf grass and 35% non-turf vegetation.
Sufficient water is provided in the lowest tier to allow a water user to irrigate that acreage, consistent with the maximum irrigation required by the State's Weekly Irrigation Guide (conservewater.utah.gov/weekly-lawn-watering-guide). The maximum irrigation seen under the weekly guide, usually during dry periods in the peak of summer, is three ½” irrigation cycles per week.
Multi-Family & Commercial Accounts
For Multi-family and Commercial, rates will be increasing 4.5% from prior rates.
