Proposed Service: Park City Regional Gondola Feasibility Study

Proposed Provider: Sno-Engineering, Inc.

Requesting Department: Economic Development

Please take notice of Park City Municipal Corporation’s (PCMC’s) intent to waive a competitive procurement process. PCMC Procurement Rule 5-3 provides that the competitive procurement requirements may be waived under circumstances where there is a reasonable justification and the waiver is in the best interests of PCMC.  The Procurement Official has determined that a waiver is appropriate for a contract for Park City Regional Gondola Feasibility Study in the amount of $76,500.00 to Sno-Engineering, Inc. based on the information below:

Waiver Justification: Per Procurement Rule 5-3 (2)(b), this design scope is of particular benefit to PCMC in order to match existing equipment and facilities. Sno-Engineering is already engaged with Deer Valley on this project, and engaging with any other engineering group could produce compatibility issues with data, methods, or design software.

Part of the scope of services requires the contractor to determine the feasibility of aerial transportation networks from City-owned land to Deer Valley-owned land. Deer Valley requires this network be compatible with their existing and/or planned aerial transportation/lift system and this contractor is the specified contractor that works with Deer Valley presently.
