PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT

The Park City Adult Hockey League (PCHL) is a USA Hockey sanctioned league which follows the Official Rules of USA Hockey except where modified by local rules. All players must have a current USA Hockey registration number and must be registered at the facility in the current PCHL season, and must be approved on a USA Hockey 1-T roster prior to any league participation.

Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in suspension, restriction and/or revocation of Park City Ice Arena and/or PCHL privileges without refund.

PCHL Local Rules:

  • Excessive Penalties Rule: Any player receiving three (3) penalties (minor, major, and/or misconduct) in any game is immediately disqualified from further participation in that game and must leave the bench and ice immediately.  The third penalty will be served by another player from the offender’s team.
  • Excessive Penalty Minutes (Bronze and Silver League): If a player receives thirty (30) minutes in penalties (minor or major) in a  sixteen (16) game season or twenty (20) minutes in a ten (10) game season, the player will be ineligible to play until the League Commissioner allows them to return.
  • Game Misconduct: Additional punishment may be imposed by the League Commissioner at his/her discretion. At minimum, the following punishments will apply for a first game misconduct:
    • Gold League & 4v4: A game misconduct penalty will carry an automatic one (1) game suspension, which is not eligible for appeal.
    • Silver League: A game misconduct penalty will carry an automatic two (2) game suspension, which is not eligible for appeal.
    • Bronze League & Ladies League: A player receiving a game misconduct is suspended for the remainder of that season and will require approval by the League Commissioner to return to play in a future season.  If there are less than three (3) games remaining in the season, a minimum three(3) game suspension will be carried to the following season and is not eligible for appeal.
  • Multiple Game Misconducts: Information about the disciplinary committee and review schedule related to multiple game misconducts can be found here.
    • Gold & Silver: In the case of a player receiving more than one (1) game misconduct penalty within a calendar year period, the player may be subject to additional disciplinary action. A Disciplinary Committee will meet to review the player and prior penalties and will recommend disciplinary action for the player including but not limited to an extended suspension. The Commissioner, in consultation with Ice Arena staff, will make the final decision on the disciplinary action to be imposed.
    • Bronze & Ladies League: A player receiving a second game misconduct is not eligible to return to the league.
  • If a player is rostered in multiple leagues, they are ineligible to play in all PCHL leagues until the suspension has been served. However, a player suspended from the Bronze League can appeal to the League Commissioner regarding eligibility to play in another league. A suspension of three (3) games (or longer) is not eligible for appeal.
  • Illegal Players:  Any team playing an illegal player (which includes but is not necessarily limited to an unrostered, unapproved or a suspended player) will forfeit that game.  In the case of a repeat offense, the team will be ineligible to participate in the league playoffs that season.
  • Gretzky Rule: In the Silver League, a player may not score more than three (3) goals in any game. If a fourth goal is scored by the same individual, it will not count.  Instead, play and face-off in the offensive zone.
  • Slapshot: No slapshots in the Bronze League. A slapshot will result in a whistle and a neutral zone faceoff.
  • Overtime Shootout: If a game is tied at the conclusion of regulation, the teams will immediately proceed to a three (3) person shootout. The first team to score in the game will have the option to go first (or not) in the shootout. In playoff games, the overtime shootout will continue until there is a winner.
  • Sub Rule: Only players on the official roster who have played at least three games, can play in that team’s playoff games. Goalies can sub as needed.

Required Waiver

All league participants are required to have a current facility waiver on file (Facility Waiver).  Facility waivers are valid for one year.
