Dog Getting of Transit Bus

In an effort to expand transit access and reduce car travel, dogs are now allowed on all Park City Transit buses.

Service Animals

All service animals are allowed on buses at all times.

Non-Service Animals

One non-service dog per owner/handler is allowed on Park City Transit in compliance with the following rules:

  • Non-service dogs must be licensed and current on vaccinations
  • Non-service dogs must remain under the control of owner/handler at all times and not left unattended
  • Non-service dogs must remain on a leash at all times. Leash must not exceed six feet in length. If the leash is retractable, it must be locked to six feet or less
  • Non-service dogs must wear a properly fitted muzzle while riding the bus. Dogs without a muzzle are not permitted to board
  • Non-service dogs must board and exit the bus through the rear side door, and remain in the back of the bus at all times
  • Non-service dogs are not allowed to occupy seats or block aisles; they must sit on the floor or on their owner/handler's lap
  • Owner/handler must clean up after their dog
  • For passenger and non-service dog safety, the transit operator has the right to refuse boarding of non-service dogs if the operator determines there is not adequate space on the bus
  • Non-service dog owner/handler has sole responsibility for their dog. Park City Transit shall not be liable for any injury or damage caused by or to a dog

Non-compliance with these rules may result in the passenger being instructed to vacate the bus.

Passengers who are unable to travel on a bus with dogs should contact (435-640-7819) to make other arrangements.
